Ok, for blogging purposes, we are just going to skip right over the end of February and the beginning of March since I do not want to get into the details of sickness, travel, deaths, sleeplessness, teething, and other unpleasantness that I'm sure occurred but either forgot about or simply blocked from my consciousness. So. On to the second half of March!
We ventured to Cincinnati for our very first ever field trip to LEGO Kidsfest. It was a lot of fun and pretty much what I expected - crowded, loud, and lots of LEGOs!!!
Teresa loves the LEGO minifigures (too bad she still puts them in her mouth, otherwise she could actually play with them instead of screaming about wanting to play with them), so she was entertained by the many giant figures they had around the center. She calls them (and pretty much any other thing that has a smiley face on it) "Hi Guys" since when we play with them we pretend they are saying hello or hi to her. As for Sean, he must have just seen something he really had to go check out IMMEDIATELY - no time for pictures!
Lightning McQueen!
This is Creation Nation. They had little tables with buckets of LEGOs where you could build a little something on a baseplate and add it to the nation wherever you wanted.
Here are our contributions.
I just now noticed the big orange Texas Longhorn in this picture - maybe I should hone my skills in making a Leprechaun or interlocking ND for the next LEGO fest!
Sean and Teresa both enjoyed making little cars (well ok Teresa needed a lot of help in making her car) and zooming them down the big ramp.
This was also a favorite spot of Sean's - a real LEGO car you can sit in!
Sean spent a little of his own money to buy an airplane set and a police car set. He had a blast, as did the rest of us. Hopefully next year there will be another one nearby (they don't go to the same city two years in a row).
