For Amy

Not much new is happening... I just thought I would post a few photos/videos, per Amy's request. :)

Here is a very serious look.

Jeff is interviewing Sean for the position of Office Manager.

Jeff took this one this evening - Sean just started grabbing at things today. So we loaded him up with toys. He made that one on his left arm into a bracelet all by himself!
Something about the look on his face here makes him seem more like a little boy and less like a baby to me. Or am I just imagining things because it's been a long twelve weeks (in a good way except for the recovering-from-surgery part)?

And now, for a few videos....

Sean enjoys putting things in his mouth and chewing on them.

Sean usually has a nightly "meltdown" in which he gets all worked up and loses control. Our job is to do everything possible to calm him down and bring him back to Earth. Usually some combination of swaddling, shushing, singing, and walking him around does the trick. On really difficult occasions the only thing that works is time. Those are the hard ones because nothing that we do for him seems to help.
Now that Sean is 12 weeks old, we are hoping that he will be outgrowing this fussy period soon.
Anyway these videos give you an idea of what goes on....

38 days until...

...Notre Dame football!

Sean marked the occasion with big explosive poops this morning (well ok that's a pretty regular occurrence); following by barfing all over himself, me, and a pillow. Also he has officially graduated to a size 2 diaper. Yeah!

Grandpa gets the first giggles!

Grandma and Grandpa Hogan drove from Fairfield to visit Sean (and us, I guess) this weekend. They arrived Thursday evening and we ordered a pizza for dinner. Friday, Jeff went to work so the rest of us just hung around the apartment all day, then we made dinner at the apartment too. We didn't do much that day. As you can see, it was very exciting!

On Saturday we drove to Baltimore's Inner Harbor. It was sunny and about 80 degrees out, so it was very nice. Of course those of us with extremely fair skin (that would be everyone but Jeff) had to be careful about staying in the shade.

We walked around for a while and then stopped at an Irish pub for lunch. Sean did very well at his first outing to a sit-down restaurant. We haven't gone out to eat at a decent restaurant since he was born because we have been afraid of spontaneous screaming, but at the pub he was fine.

I'm not sure what this is all about, but one of Sean's new things is to grab his face. I'm not sure why he does it, because he doesn't seem to enjoy it.

Grandpa did a great job of putting Sean to sleep. Also he got Sean to laugh for the very first time! Unfortunately we didn't get it on camera, but hopefully we will soon. Of course we all thought it was the cutest thing we had ever seen! :)

Here is Sean with Grandma and Grandpa Hogan. We'll see them again soon for Sean's baptism in three weeks.

First trip to Webster

We drove to Webster last weekend so Jeff's family could meet Sean. Also we got to meet Sean's cousin Joshua, who is one day older than Sean, for the first time. Here are the two Spoonhower grandchildren together. As you can see, Sean is starting to discover his hands. He puts them together a lot and sometimes tries to fit his entire fist in his mouth.

Here is Sean with his mamma. You can see here that he's starting to grow some of his hair back.
