Happy Easter!

On Easter we went to my aunt and uncle's house for a family gathering, which included an egg hunt.

Sean is notoriously the "worst looker ever," meaning he could be looking for something that is actually right in front of him and he still doesn't see it. Like when you are wearing your glasses and forget they are on your face and spend 20 minutes looking around the house for them.

Case in point -

He really really could not find that yellow egg. We had to point it out to him. :)

The little angel enjoyed carrying the basket of eggs around. Next year I'm sure she will understand what is in them (candy and coins!) and there will be a little bit more competition for Sean, who this year got to find them all and keep all the money.

Sean was very excited about the candy and coins!

And once they were all empty, we threw them around for a while just for fun.

We hope you all had a blessed Easter!

Ponytail

Wow, if you want your baby girl to look like a little girl, just put her hair in a ponytail!

She's got those beautiful Spoonhower eyes.

Birthday party

One of Sean's schoolmates had a birthday party at a bounce house place. Sean had a lot of fun, and as usual went at about 200% for two hours and was totally and completely exhausted and barely made it to an early bedtime. :) Hopefully as he gets older he will work as hard as he plays!

He really enjoyed the rock climbing wall!

Worn out in the rear left corner.

LEGO Kidsfest

Ok, for blogging purposes, we are just going to skip right over the end of February and the beginning of March since I do not want to get into the details of sickness, travel, deaths, sleeplessness, teething, and other unpleasantness that I'm sure occurred but either forgot about or simply blocked from my consciousness. So. On to the second half of March!

We ventured to Cincinnati for our very first ever field trip to LEGO Kidsfest. It was a lot of fun and pretty much what I expected - crowded, loud, and lots of LEGOs!!!

Teresa loves the LEGO minifigures (too bad she still puts them in her mouth, otherwise she could actually play with them instead of screaming about wanting to play with them), so she was entertained by the many giant figures they had around the center. She calls them (and pretty much any other thing that has a smiley face on it) "Hi Guys" since when we play with them we pretend they are saying hello or hi to her. As for Sean, he must have just seen something he really had to go check out IMMEDIATELY - no time for pictures!

Lightning McQueen!

This is Creation Nation. They had little tables with buckets of LEGOs where you could build a little something on a baseplate and add it to the nation wherever you wanted.

Here are our contributions.

I just now noticed the big orange Texas Longhorn in this picture - maybe I should hone my skills in making a Leprechaun or interlocking ND for the next LEGO fest!

Sean and Teresa both enjoyed making little cars (well ok Teresa needed a lot of help in making her car) and zooming them down the big ramp.

This was also a favorite spot of Sean's - a real LEGO car you can sit in!

Sean spent a little of his own money to buy an airplane set and a police car set. He had a blast, as did the rest of us. Hopefully next year there will be another one nearby (they don't go to the same city two years in a row).

Counting

I just had to share, this evening Teresa counted to four! Whoa, I was impressed. Our little 18-month-old is showing some brains comparable with her older brother at that age. :)

A real update will come sooner or later, I am still working on our taxes and that is first priority right now for my spare time....
