California quick trip

A couple weeks ago Teresa and I flew to San Fran for a day to go to the wedding of one of my good friends from Notre Dame. Jeff met us there, as he was in Marin County the previous week for work, and Sean stayed with my parents (thank you again!).

We had to get up EARLY for the flight out of Dayton. Teresa took a catnap in the car, then was awake until we got on the plane. She slept pretty much the whole way to Denver, then part of the way to SFO. She is now super squirmy so this was much more challenging than when we flew to SF in February. Wow what a difference a couple of months makes when you are a baby!

Upon arrival, it was about 11 in the morning (yes, we got up EARLY). I tried to get Teresa to nap in the hotel for about an hour, then just gave up since she was not settling down at all. I walked to the BART station, and of course she fell asleep in the carrier before I even got my ticket!

We headed from BART to the cable cars to search for some very specific souvenirs for Sean that he requested (stuff he saw when he was there but didn't buy). Teresa had a great time. Until she picked the pocket of the guy standing near us - she swiped his map, then tried to eat it, then screamed the rest of the way when I wouldn't let her. *sigh* Luckily, you just can't help but smile if you are riding a cable car (babies exempted from that rule), so nobody really seemed to mind that she was making more than her fair share of decibels.

I saw this Studebaker near Fisherman's Wharf. We have seen Studebakers parked in the Gharardelli Square parking garage as well. Interesting.

This one's for you, Grandma H.! ;)

It was an absolutely beautiful day, so we strolled down to the little beach area. Teresa was not amused. (So far we are 0/2 for kids liking the beach.... uh oh! So much for my dream of taking an annual vacation to Michigan City for the drum corps show when they get older!)

On Saturday morning, we went back to the city to walk around again. Here are Dad and T. waiting for the subway.

I know I have a biased opinion, but isn't she cute?

Then it was back to the hotel to get ready for the wedding. Teresa did a good job as makeup supervisor.

Waiting for the big moment!

Teresa made it through dinner at the reception, then slept in the Moby wrap while we danced until 11 pm. Then we got a couple hours of sleep and flew back home on the first Sunday morning flight. Phew it was quite a trip but we had a great time and I am so glad we were able to go!
